So today we went to the library and happened to be there for storytime. So we stayed and I was a little nervous. He is in the class with just the kids and teacher. BUT he did GREAT! I was so proud of him. I watched from the door and he did good and listened. So I think that we will definitely be doing this every week if we can. So school Monday and Wednesday, then storytime on Tuesday. We might even try to learn about what storytime is about. But storytime changes every week. So that kinda shoots down my school for a month plan.. so we'll see.

Can I say it again I was so proud of him for how well he did at school! :)

So we did it! School went great. It seemed a bit hard to fill 30 mins. I really didn't have it planned out like I thought I did.

We read books, talked about Fiction and Nonfiction and what they mean. Sang Old McDonald too. Did a craft and we traced our hands to make chickens. Turned out cute. He did yellow for chicks and my hand was red for a hen. Talked a bit about the letter "C" how it starts chicken and his name. Then at the end we acted like chickens and pecked at the ground, crowed, and scratched. Pretty good for a first try.


I found someone's blog and I think I might copy some of their ideas for stuff. Do something like Fall for a whole month, and then do leaves for a week, apples, pumpkins, squirrels and stuff like that.

More deals

Ok, I'm sure no one is reading this besides me, but to get myself into the practice of posting freebies, just incase I get someone else that reads this besides me. :)

Well, on Friday 26th the Panera at Town and Country is having a reopening ceremony and they will be giving away gift cards to the first 250 people. So that's always good.. free Panera that is.

And then Bounce U that just opened up on Lyons Rd is having a grand opening with Free Family Play event. That is from 12-4. I'm not sure what they are doing really though...

Toys R Us is also doing little things for Geffory Giraffe's birthday 12-3pm Saturday 27th , although it doesn't look like anything super awesome.

Got books

So we went to the library this morning and got a few books about chickens. I decided to do both fiction and nonfiction. I also found a video about farm animals, we'll see if there is anything about chickens.

We are going to try to do school twice next week for about 20-30 mins. I think first thing in the morning will work best. Try to get started before C gets too distracted with playing.

Freebies in Dayton

So I always seem to be in the know about free stuff so I'm gonna try to post some of them here and there. So if you live in Dayton, OH this week at the new hospital Miami Valley Hospital Lite 99.9 is doing a free listener lunch. It is from 11-1. It's pretty good, but the line can be long. You can score some good free stuff from the vendors that are there too. And Cold Stone Creamery- nationwide is doing free ice cream Thursday 5-8 for Make a Wish. So we will be doing that too!

School ideas for next week

So I first have to clean out the area that we are going to have school. Get some craft stuff organized and figure out what we are doing. I found a site First School and we are going to do chicken related stuff next week since September is National Chicken month. It looks like I might be able to get some good resources from this site. So I'm excited about that.

It starts!

So well I'm gonna try doing this. I've been wanting to do a blog for a while but haven't ever gotten motivated enough to do it. So here it is now. C and I are going to try to do school and for my sake of remembering what we have done I'm gonna blog. So let's go!
